Early Years Foundation Stage – 2025

At the end of a Foundation Stage, the children are assessed using the early learning goals in the Statutory Framework for Early Years Foundation Stage.

At New Pastures Primary School, there were 34 children in the cohort in 2025. 71% of these children achieved a Good Level of Development.

Year One – 2025

When children come to the end of their year in Year One there is a statutory assessment of their phonics skills – the Phonics Screening Check.

At New Pastures Primary School, there were 24 children in the cohort in 2025

83% of these children passed the Phonics Screening Check.

End of Year Four – 2025

At the end of Year Four, children have to take a multiplication tables check which is an online assessment. The test involves 25 multiplication tables questions.

We had 39 children in the cohort in 2025, and of this group:

  • 34% of the children scored 25.
  • 74% of the children scored 21 – 25
  • The average score for the children in Year Four was 21.9 compared to a national figure of 21.0

End of Year Six – 2025

At the end of a Key Stage children are judged to be either working at the expected standard or not. Some children may be judged to be working above the expected standard.

At the end of Key Stage Two (Year Six) children’s raw test scores are converted to a scaled score, where 100 is the national expectation.

At New Pastures Primary School, we had 31 children in the cohort in 2025, and of this group:

  • 61% of the children achieved the expected standard in reading and 16% achieved a scaled score (high) of 110+.
  • 71% of the children achieved the expected standard in writing and 6% were assessed at working at the greater depth standard.
  • 58% of the children achieved the expected standard in the grammar, punctuation and spelling test and 3% achieved a scaled score (high) of 110+.
  • 68% of the children achieved the expected standard in mathematics and 16% achieved a scaled score (high) of 110+.
  • 48% of the children achieved the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics combined and 3% of the children are working above the expected standard.
